John Galliano: Fashion Icon of the week

John Galliano is Gilbraltarian-British fashion designer. He has taken the world in storm for fashion. Galliano will be remembered as one of the most exciting, innovative, and romantic designers on the runway. He graduated in 1984 from St. Martin’s School of Art and Design. In 1987, 1994, and 1995 he was awarded British Designer of the Year. Each season Galliano travels the world researching cultures, literatures, romances of life, and the arts to create new ideas. His designs are theatrical and ahead of its time, as well as wearable and fluid. Galliano designs for Christian Dior as well as his own label. With all of this, Galliano produces six couture and ready-to-wear collections a year. He has been quoted as identifying his love of theater and femininity as central to his creations. Galliano has reputedly cited Charlize Theron as a muse and has created dresses for her to wear to red carpet events such as the Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Other celebrities have worn his dresses to special events such as Cate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman. John Galliano is an inspiration to those looking into the fashion industry.
